Privacy policy for Tunody

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This page covers Tunody. Our programs (ComposerFlex and PianoFlex) and our main website, flexmusiclabs.com, are covered by the privacy policy there.

1. What we keep.

  • Your account: your email address and an account ID, and the times your account was created, you agreed to the Terms and you last used Tunody (the last is how we find accounts unused for 12 months). Sign-in is handled by Clerk (clerk.com). It keeps your email, the link to your Google account if you use Google, and its own security records of your sign-ins, which include your IP address and device, under Clerk's own privacy policy. There are no passwords. We receive only your account ID and email.
  • Your songs: the choices you made (song type, piano, length, key, tempo, scale, Dynamics, Song variation and, for the Random style, its level; if you chose Auto for the piano, the piano Tunody picked is kept too), the optional title you type, the technical details used to create the song (its seed, the versions of ComposerFlex and PianoFlex used, and the audio format and bitrate; the song's Info window shows these to you) and, for each finished song, the key, scale and tempo it actually used, the number and mix drawn for a Random song, and the type of processor and the time each step took, the MIDI file, and whether you have listened to the song (this is how the "new" mark is shown). The audio is deleted after 7 days.
  • What you've used: how many credits you have and when they were last topped up, so the free limit works, and whether we have suspended the account (see Terms 9).
  • Technical records: if a song fails to be created, we keep the job number, the choices you made, the optional title you typed, the technical details used to create it (the seed, the versions of ComposerFlex and PianoFlex, the type of processor and the time each step took, as far as the song got) and the error for 30 days, with no email and no IP address. Deleting the song, all your songs or your account removes this record at once.
  • Service checks and totals: every two hours our own service creates a short test song to check that it works; it uses no account and holds no user's data. Each day we also total how many songs were created, how many times audio was created again, how many songs failed, how many accounts were created and how much machine time was used, with no names, emails or IP addresses.

2. What we don't do. You pick from lists and sliders and can type a tempo number; the only words you can type are an optional song title, which we keep with the song and use only to show it in your list, to name your downloaded files and as the track name inside your MIDI file. We use no analytics or advertising and set no tracking cookies, and we don't sell or rent your information. We don't store your IP address; we keep only a count of your songs. To keep the service fair, each signed-in account is limited in how many requests it can make in a minute; the limit is counted by account, not by IP address. Cloudflare, which hosts Tunody, sees your IP address when your browser connects, as any web host does, and handles it under its own privacy policy. Clerk records IP and device for your sign-in sessions (section 1). Tunody sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies and browser storage used on Tunody are the ones Clerk sets to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in, which are strictly necessary; none is for analytics or advertising. Tunody does not track you across other websites, so it has nothing to change when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

3. Who handles it for us. Cloudflare (hosting and storage) and Clerk (sign-in). Only the people who are required to run and fix the service can see account data, and only when needed, for example to fix an outage. We don't share it otherwise, except where the law requires.

4. Email. We send no news or product emails. The only email you get is the one-time code Clerk sends to sign you in, unless the law requires us to tell you something (for example about a security problem). If you write to us at support@flexmusiclabs.com, we use your message and address only to reply.

5. How long we keep it. Audio: 7 days, then deleted within about an hour. MIDI files and your account: until you delete them or the account, or after 12 months without signing in (we send no warning, because we send no other email). When you delete a song, its files and everything we hold about it are removed at once; deleting a song does not give its credit back. When you delete your account, your songs, MIDI and account are removed at once, and so is your Clerk sign-in. Our database keeps restore points for up to 30 days, so deleted records can remain in them for up to 30 days.

6. Your choices and rights. You can delete your songs or your account from your account page, or by writing to support@flexmusiclabs.com. You can ask to see or correct what we hold. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.

7. Children. Tunody is for people 16 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from younger people, and we delete it if we learn of it.

8. Changes. If we change this page, we'll update the date above.
